APES Website Project

Background:

We recently discussed in class the idea of junk science versus empirical science. Some websites promote junk science and some are clearly well documented examples of good science. What is a student to do?

Objective:

Research and document the science behind one environmental topic or issue of your choosing. Carefully cite your sources and produce a web page providing scientific information and resources for students to better understand your topic/issue.

Day 1 Assignment:

  1. Visit Environmentalism.com. Evaluate wether this site represents good or junk science.
  2. Choose an environmental issue or topic thate resonates with you and begin doing some preliminary research (find some scientific websites that deal with your topic).
  3. Start making a list of sites that provide scientific information and begin thinking about how you would explain and document the science behind your issue.
